Assignment 1 task 2

The purpose of editing

Storytelling
You would use editing to show a story of the film e.g. if their was a fight happening of the film you would show the main part of it. you could edit many different ways to tell a story all movies have a story to it and thats the main part that got them interested.

Engaging the viewer
This is what all films want is for their viewers to be engaged in their films so they are enjoying it. the films would need their film to be interest to draw in the viewer for example they want their story to have meaning

Development of drama
Films that have drama in it are very good as it draws the viewer to feel connected to with the people in the film knowing how they feel so they are more engaged in the film. some films will have too much drama which will cause the viewer to get bored of the film .

Relationship to genre
There are many different genres for example action, horror, fantasty, comedy, sci-fi and romance. different people like different types of genres. depending of the genres is depending on who likes it. some people are fans of sci-fi e,g, star treak films or the star wars saga.


Creating motivation
The film will become motivated if it has a series of smooth continuity friendly shots, this could be a conversation between 2 people. The film needs to get the shot near perfect in a relation to the last shot and the shots need to have a steady cuts.

Combining sots into sequences
This is when you get shots that where filmed at different times and they have been edited together to form a seamless sequence. a example of this could be the final action scene of ''mr and mrs smith''.



Creating pace
This is when the edits in a scene are occurring a lot which could build up tension or to show the action that is occurring in the scene.
